what happened?
Wow! I wanted to make the pictures larger, but maybe that's a bit too large. Now I can't get them smaller. Oh well, not wasting any more time on this...
made it through the first week of school.

The first day of school went off without a hitch. I was fully expecting Jack not getting up when he was supposed to. But that didn't happen. I set his alarm to 103.5 fm the night before so he could get himself up in the morning. To my surprise he actually did get up at 6:15am...by himself. He got himself ready and then fed and was out at the bus stop by 7:20 am, nervously pacing. There is not another boy at his stop...all girls. He came back after his half day and said his first day was a great success. Jack did make a comment to me in the morning that mad me chuckle. As I was getting ready for the first day photo, he turns to me and says "You know this stops in High School, right?"
MAtt also got up in a chipper mood the first day. This is MAJOR GOOD THING because MAtt is NOT a morning person. He got ready ahead of schedule, as well and was at the bus stop at 8:20 am. Matt claims he does not like school, but had a big smile on his face when he came home...he was happy to see his friends. So far, so good! I only hope they continue to get up so easily in the morning. Time will tell...

Party.
The day started off with all baseball games being canceled because of the rain. Yes, rain again. I really wasn't that disappointed because we were hosting the end of the year baseball party this afternoon and I still had to prepare for it.
Al, the kids and I hit China Court for Lunch Specials and by the time we were done, the sun had come out. I stopped by the nursery to pick up some flowers and took advantage of the time and weather and got them planted. I chose Mixed Zinnias and they look beautiful!
The baseball party was actually pretty stress free. The parents hung out and chatted while the boys ran wild! Way to much food left over again!
Just got Syd down for the night and am contemplating watching the last disc of Planet Earth.

another day.
Well, it was another fun day of illness in the Olorvida household. However, so far I have managed to stay healthy. I am so ready for everyone to be well again! On a happy note, I did manage to duck out to Hobby Lobby this afternoon to pick up some patterned paper to finish up a scrapbook page.
The boys are gearing up for their last hour of school tomorrow. They are READY FOR SUMMER!! I'm not sure I am.? Jack starts Baseball Camp at Mundelein High tomorrow. Should be a good time.
The GPS I ordered is expected to deliver tomorrow. I'm excited about that new toy to play around with.

turning eight.

I spent the latter half of this afternoon holding a feverish child while she slept. Heartbreaking to see little Syd feeling so miserable. Say a prayer for a speedy recovery.

photoshop & the flu.

Well the flu has hit our house with a vengeance. Matt came down with it a week ago today and was out of school for three days. He finally went back this past Thursday. Al came home with it on Thursday and is still fighting it. Jack and Sydney came down with it this morning and are absolutely miserable. Grammy and I are just waiting to see which one of us will be next.
With all the sickness around us, I still wanted Matt to have his Birthday dinner and so I decided to take him out for lunch today, one day early, just in case the flu got me tomorrow. We went to Olive Garden and he had his Mac & Cheese with about a pound of grated parmesan on top. Good food & good conversation!
I was fiddling around with Photoshop and doctored up a Halloween picture from this past year. I kind of like how it turned out. Photoshop is even more fun than I imagined. Now, if I just had more free time...
